Compatible/Remanufactured Ink Cartridges - Will they void my printer warranty?
Using these cartridges will NOT void your printer warranty. Federal law prohibits any company from requiring you to purchase only their products and prohibits a manufacturer from voiding your machine's warranty simply by using alternative cartridge solutions. For more details, please refer to: Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act (U.S. Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312).
What is the difference between a compatible and a re-manufactured ink cartridge?
A compatible ink cartridge is a generic replacement for OEM cartridges. A re-manufactured ink cartridge is a recycled OEM cartridge that was been through a cycle of cleaning, refilling and testing to meet factory standards. Each re-manufactured ink cartridge gets thoroughly cleaned and then refilled with high quality ink originally manufactured in Germany. They then go through a series of tests to ensure the internal pressure of each cartridge is at the appropriate level for use.
Each compatible and re-manufactured ink cartridge gets print-tested with each of their respective lists of all of their various compatible printers. We only allow cartridges that pass with flying colors to be sold to our customers.
Why is the advertised page yield not accurate?
The quoted paged yield is an average based on approximately 5% of page coverage. If you happen to print a substantial amount that’s more than 5% of page coverage, then the page yield will be lower. Other variables can affect the page yield, such as printing on a legal size sheet of paper, rather than a letter size. Printing on photo paper or printing images that contains many color tones is a contributing factor as well.
When I install my cartridge, why does the printer show it is empty/low in ink level?
Every cartridge is individually inspected, weighed and tested before packaging to ensure that it is filled to maximum capacity. If you notice that the ink gauge displays low or no ink level, DO NOT be alarmed. This is very common because you are using a Re-Manufactured cartridge. Unfortunately, we are not able to reset the ink level due to original manufacturer cartridge design. Therefore, you may receive low empty/ink level indications and messages. These are NOT accurate. To bypass this, click OK or continue through any printer prompts, if applicable, to allow the printer to finish printing or you may press OK on your printer’s LCD screen, if it has one. For Canon inkjet cartridges, you can bypass the ink level message by pressing and holding down the STOP/RESET or RESUME button (upside down triangle in a circle icon) for 10 seconds and then releasing it. It should now continue printing.
You may also receive any of the following messages: 'Used, Refilled or Counterfeited Cartridge Detected', or 'Previously Used Cartridges Installed', simply press ‘proceed’, ‘continue’, ‘accept’, ‘yes’ or ‘OK’ to dismiss the prompt if available.
The cartridge is not being recognized by my printer or it is giving me an error message. How do I get it to work with my printer?
Please make sure that the cartridge is the correct one that your printer requires and make sure that the seal tape is fully removed from cartridge prior to installation. If it is the correct cartridge and you have fully removed the seal tape, remove the cartridge and gently wipe the contact points of the cartridge using a dry, lint-free cloth or a rubber eraser to remove any possible dust or residue that might be preventing it from making a good connection with the printer. Now re-insert the cartridge back into the printer. Make sure that the cartridge is securely inserted properly in place.
Just tried to print with the cartridge and the print quality is unacceptable (blurry/faded colors, broken lines, missing colors, blank page, etc.). How can I get the cartridge to print properly?
If the cartridge is not printing out properly, please run a ‘print head cleaning cycle’ (or clean cartridge function) 2 times. This maintenance feature is accessible through the TOOLS/SETTINGS menu or SERVICES tab from your printer’s front control panel or printer software. This will help the ink flow properly from the cartridge. If unable to locate the print head cleaning tool, please refer to your printer manual or documentation.
